1. Ravenscar

First on our list of North Yorkshire moors walks is Ravenscar. An easy route to follow, this 2.7km trail is made up of a figure-of-eight loop passing through National Trust landscape. Splitting into two sections, there are no steps or stiles on either loop however, there is a short incline on the southern loop as well as two kissing gates. The northern loop is ideal for people with mobility issues due to the flat terrain. Boasting coastal views, over sheer cliffs this trail takes in views of Blea Wyke and Robin Hood’s Bay. Views are spectacular all year long, but especially beautiful in spring with wildflowers along the cliff edge.

2. Runswick Bay

Next on our list is Runswick Bay. A linear route, this 3.2km trail is an easy access walk following the Cleveland Way National Trail. The route is mostly level with a grassy terrain through fields and along the cliff edge, with just one kissing gate along the way. Walk along the clifftop and enjoy wide views over Runwick Bay and Port Mulgrave. At the halfway point you will see the remains of the harbour at Port Mulgrave, which dates to 1856 when it was used to ship iron ore from nearby mines to furnaces.

3. Levisham Moor and the Hole of Horcum

For a slightly longer North Yorkshire moors walks, Levisham Moor and the Hole of Horcum is the one for you. A circular route, this 7km walk takes in beautiful scenic views across the North York Moors starting from Saltergate over the Hole of Horcum. There’s a possible diversion to the viewpoint of Skelton Tower, which extends this trail by 4km making it an 11km trail.

4. Robin Hood's Bay and Maw Wyke

Another long walk is Robin Hood’s Bay and Maw Wyke. A circular route, this 9.8km trail follows the cliffs of Robin Hood’s Bay passing Ness Point. An easy route to navigate, follow the signposts for the Cleveland Way National Trail on the outward part of the journey and return along the Cinder Track. 5. Wainstones Walk

Last on our list is Wainstones Walk. A circular route, this 13km trail boasts some of the most spectacular views in the National Park. Navigate your way through the heights of Cold Moor as you approach the rock crags known as the Wainstones and enjoy the scenic views across the moors. This route follows heather moorland tracks along Cold Moor and Urra Moor, which can be wet and muddy. The Cleveland Way section of the walk is predominantly along a stone surfaced waymarked track.
