Top 5 Norfolk cycle routes

1. Norfolk Coast Cycleway

First on our list is the Norfolk Coast Cycleway, spanning across 59-miles from King’s Lynn to Great Yarmouth. Offering breath-taking scenery, the Norfolk Coast Cycleway passes through towns such as Wells-next-the-Sea, Cromer, and Mundesley, all appointed an Area of Outstanding Beauty (AONB). This route follows the Sustrans National Cycle Network (NCN) and is suitable for people of all ages and abilities due to its gentle hills and quiet lanes.

2. The Broads by bike

Next on our list is the Broads by Bike network consisting of 16 circular routes, 9 of which take in views of the northern Broads area. The remaining 5 routes take in areas of the southern Broads with links along the route that take in Horsey coastline, capturing golden sand dunes and resident seals. The Broads National Park has so much on offer when cycling in Norfolk and is an ideal place to enjoy an afternoon on your bike, with quiet lanes and beautiful views.

3. Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path

Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path is another popular choice when cycling in Suffolk and Norfolk. With most of the route running through the Norfolk Coast AONB it’s not hard to see why this route is so popular. Taking in over 200km of scenic views, Peddars Way starts in Suffolk and meets The Norfolk Coast Path at Holme-next-the-Sea. Experience seaside towns, tidal marshes offering an abundance of wildlife, white sandy beaches, and lush woodlands.

4. The Suffolk Coast

The Suffolk Coast is the nearest undisturbed coastline to London, popular with tourists due to its AONB. With charming coastal towns situated along the NCN, cycling in Suffolk and Norfolk is available year-round. Home to two routes on this network, cycle route 1 takes you from north to south through Suffolk, before reaching Norfolk. Cycle route 51 travels west to east from Cambridge to Felixstowe.

5. Marriott's Way

Last on our list of bike routes in Norfolk is Marriott’s Way, a 42km off-road trail that follows two disused railway lines that run from Norwich to Aylsham. Some of this trail forms part of route 1 of the NCN. Most of this route is suitable for people of all abilities, but there are some wet and sandy sections. Boasting amazing wildlife and fantastic waymarked routes this route is ideal for quiet and leisurely bike rides.
