Beddgelert pubs and restaurants

These fabulous places are just a selection of those in the village of Beddgelert – who would have thought that such a small place could have so many great places to eat and drink?

Hebog, Beddgelert restaurant and cafe

A lovely bistro style café where you can enjoy anything from a freshly brewed coffee to a home cooked meal. It has a homely, welcoming feel, and there are tables outside by the river in the summer too. It’s rightly popular, so you definitely need to book a table in peak season.

Caffi Colwyn, Beddgelert tea garden and licensed restaurant

A café with a tea garden beside the river, Caffi Colwyn serves great breakfasts and lunches. It’s licensed too, so you can enjoy a glass of wine of a beer with your meal.

Glaslyn Pizzeria, Beddgelert restaurant and ice cream parlour

What’s a holiday without pizza and ice cream? Glaslyn Pizzeria is in the heart of Beddgelert and, while the menu has a distinctly Italian feel, the owners take great pride in sourcing many of the ingredients locally. The ice cream parlour is extremely popular, serving artisan ices, made in small batches on the premises. A great choice for eating out with the kids during the day.

Restaurants and pubs within a short distance of Beddgelert

There are plenty of village pubs and restaurants within a 15-minute drive of Beddgelert and they all have something unique to offer, from luscious local gins to superb Sunday carveries.

Cwellyn Arms, Rhyd Ddu pub and restaurant

A lively pub with an excellent restaurant offering good quality food. The range of craft and local ales is popular with walkers and hikers after descending Snowdon’s Rhyd Ddu path. Five minutes’ drive from Beddgelert, it’s a useful Beddgelert pub to know if you are on a fishing holiday, as it also sells fishing permits and boat rentals for some local lakes and rivers.

Aberdunnant Hall & holiday park, Prenteg

This may be an unassuming venue, on a hillside holiday park, but the Sunday carvery is to die for, and it’s just a 10-minute drive from Beddgelert. The setting is a manor house at the top of the site and the menu is full of old favourites, as well as steak, chicken or salmon on the stone, where you cook it yourself at the table. And that Sunday carvery is available all year round!

The Golden Fleece, Tremadog pub and restaurant

The historic village of Tremadog  (birthplace of Lawrence of Arabia) is just 15 minutes from Beddgelert. Pubs and restaurants here are often talked about with enthusiasm by our guests and the Golden Fleece is no exception. It offers a tasty selection of foods, including breakfasts. The bar area was an original cellar; now with cheerful log burners, it has a great atmosphere all year round and an extensive collection of local gins.

Y Sgwâr, Tremadog restaurant

Another Tremadog star is Y Sgwâr.  This small but perfectly formed restaurant is chic in style, blending rustic features, including slate floors and the original stone fireplace, with contemporary décor. And the food is gorgeous. It’s a great choice for a special night out, but make sure you book as it is very popular.
